The back featured wall is finished in “Hardie” concrete fibre board in “slate gray”. The back wall had vinyl siding installed to match the house as closely as possible.

A triple 2×12 LVL beam allowed us to a considerably wider span between posts in the front for a more welcoming appearance.. The LVL beam was cased in milled pine.

Techno metal posts were used for underground support system to insure it satys level for decades to come.

A flush mount beam in the deck framing allowed us to get the deck as close to the ground as possible.

The roof was finished with cold rolled asphalt.

The custom shower replaced the existing bathtub. The shower includes a 48” wide niche, a new lower foot rest shelf, and a custom shower base and finished in 12”x24” tiles. The flat finish shower floor tiles are of a non slip design for safety. New floor tile, vanity and fixtures were also installed.

The walls and ceiling received new drywall. The existing exhaust fan was replaced with a new whisper fan with high CFM to reduce the potential of moisture damage.

The rolling glass doors were ordered from Costco. The wall tile are large subway style white ceramic tile. The floor was ceramic tile 12”x24”. As always a new sub floor was installed with waterproofing to ensure proper support for the tiles.

The original wood railing was replaced with a combination of privacy fence and railing. A two-flight set of stairs with a landing was installed to add access to the back yard.

The privacy fence had fixed panels on the lower half and movable shutters on the upper half. The new railing is made of wood top, upper and lower rails and black aluminum balusters. We also added a new door to the screened in porch below and fixed the fence gate.

Bathroom Renovation in Ottawa

This bathroom in Ottawa got a complete makeover including new tub, floor / wall tile and vanity. The end wall of the tub was removed to maximize the space while the mixing valve and shower head were moved to the adjacent wall along with the new right hand drain tub. The bench at the end of the tub made room for the heat vent and existing main plumbing stack.

Densheild backboard was used for the walls while the bench received “Kirdi” waterproofing to ensure there will be no water damage for years to come. A curved shower curtain rod was installed to make up for the removal of the end wall.

Both wall tile and floor tile are matted ceramic. New baseboard and casing was also installed. The entire bathroom got new paint from Dulux paints. The plumbing fixtures were provided by Moen.

This basement renovation was located in Kanata. The space was unfinished to start. The finished area measured a little over 600sq ft and included one bedroom, a bathroom and living area.

New LED Pot lights were installed through the finished area. A false rough sawn pine beam was installed and stained to cover the existing steel “I” beam.

A dry bar with fridge was installed with a dark counter top and rough sawn pine shelves stained to match the beams.

The flooring was a luxury vinyl through the finished area including the bathroom where the vinyl planks were tiled design. Dricore insulated panels were installed as subfloor throughout the finished area for comfort and sound. dampening. The ceilings were insulated with safe and sound “Roxul” in conjunction with 5/8” drywall and resilient channel for proper sound reduction. Insulated flex pipe was installed on all heat vents to keep sound from travelling through the vents.

All baseboard, casing and doors were installed to match the main and upper level to keep a continuous look. 

Wall and trim paint was installed by the homeowner after we completed the renovation. 

The bathroom Shower was tiled with an acrylic base and sliding doors.

This basement was an unfinished space to start. The layout remained an open concept.
A wood burning fireplace finished in stone was installed for the lounging area. There was to be a pool table area and a tv room.

The bathroom was finished with an acrylic corner shower kit. A macerating toilet was installed to pump water up for the septic tank. A custom book shelf was installed with lighting to illuminate the shelving.
The ceiling has sound dampening insulation.

The flooring is luxury vinyl throughout. Drywall was cut 6” off the floor and replaced with rigid insulation and then vinyl flooring was installed as baseboard. This is to prevent wall damage if ever the basement was to flood.

A Fresh Look for a Bathroom in Ottawa Ontario

Located in Ottawa, This main bathroom was completely demolished down to the studs. Removing all the old drywall and finished allows us to give the bathroom that “brand new” look.

Family gets a New Deck in Stittsville Ontario by In-Dex Construction

This deck was built in Stittsville Ontario. The deck was finished in western red cedar and framed with pressure treated lumber. The Metal helical pile footings we’re installed my techno metal post.

The railing is aluminum Century railing with LED lighting installed along the outer edge and risers of the stairs. The pergola was added for a little extra shade but mostly character. This deck is part of a large plan with landscaping to come in the future.

The existing deck was removed including the concrete slab deck that was found under the existing deck. The built-up slab was removed to ensure the new deck could be built to the necessary height.

The new deck was built completely out of treated lumber and measures 24’x25’. The outer corner was built on a 45 degree angle for an easy flow to the rest of the back yard.

Lights we installed around the exterior edges and risers of the stairs and upper step.

The original deck was completely demolished. In its place a larger deck was built giving the homeowner more usable space. The barbeque will go on the upper deck for quick access near the doors and the lower larger area was designed to fit a metal pre-fabricated gazebo.

The deck is finished in cedar and features “century” black aluminum railings with square balusters. The cedar is planned to be stained while the railing is maintenance free. 

The deck is built on floating deck block footings and is framed with treated lumber. A proper landscape tarp was installed below the deck to protect it from ground moisture.
